The positive effects of garlic in lowering blood sugar and complications (side effect) of diabetes have been reported. Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the preventive effect of zinc sulfate combined with garlic flower extract on diabetes induction by (STZ) in male rats. Materials and Methods: 21 adult male Wistar rats were divided into 3 groups (n=7), Normal control group, which received regular food and water during 45 days and on 15th day were injected normal saline, the positive control group (diabetic by STZ at a dose 40mg/kg on the fifteenth day), and preventive treatment groups, receiving combined of flowers garlic extract at a dose 360mg/Lit and zinc sulfate at a dose 36mg/lit in drinking water during 15-days treatment period before were used to diabetes. STZ (40mg/kg intraperitoneally) was injected after treatment. The insulin hormone measured by radioimmunoassay with special kits and blood glucose measured by using enzymatic colorimetric methods. Results: Serum level of insulin in the preventive treatment group increased significantly (p<0.001), compared to the control group respectively. Blood sugar levels in preventive treatment groups showed a significant decrease (p<0.001) compared to the control group. Conclusion: The results showed that a combination of garlic extract and zinc sulfate as preventive agents in induced diabetes give rise to increasing of insulin and decreasing of blood glucose.}, keywords = {Diabetes,Zinc,Garlic flowers,Streptozotocin,Rats}, title_fa = {اثر پیشگیرانه ترکیب سولفات روی و عصاره هیدروالکلی گل سیر بر دیابت القا شده با استرپتوزوتوسین (STZ) بر موش سفید صحرایی نر}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: عنصر روی تاثیرات مفیدی درحیوانات دیابتی دارد. تأثیر مثبت گیاه سیر در کاهش میزان قند خون یا عوارض ناشی از دیابت نیز گزارش شده است. هدف: هدف از مطالعه حاضر بررسی اثر پیشگیرانه ترکیب سولفات روی با عصاره گل سیر بر دیابت القاء شده با استرپتوزوتوسین (STZ) در موشهای صحرایی نر بود. مواد و روش‌ها: تعداد 21 سر موش صحرایی نر بالغ از نژاد ویستار به 3 گروه تقسیم شدند (7=n)، گروه کنترل نرمال، که درطول 45 روز از آب و غذای معمولی استفاده کردند و در روز 15 به آنها نرمال سالین تزریق شد، گروه دیابتی شده کنترل مثبت (دیابتی شده بوسیله STZبا دوز 40mg/kgدر روز پانزدهم) و گروه تیمار پیشگیرانه، با دریافت عصاره هیدروالکلی گل سیر با دوز 360mg/Lit و سولفات روی با دوز 36mg/litدر آب آشامیدنی بصورت ترکیبی در یک دوره تیمار 15 روزه قبل از دیابتی شدن مورد استفاده قرار گرفتند. داروی STZ با دوز 40mg/kg به صورت درون صفاقی بعد از تیمار تزریق شد. میزان هورمون انسولین از طریق روش رادیوایمنواسی با کیت های ویژه و قند خون، از روش آنزیمی- رنگ سنجی اندازه‌گیری شدند. نتایج: میزان سرمی هورمون انسولین در گروه تحت تیمار پیشگیرانه نسبت به دیابتی افزایش معناداری (001/0 >p ) را نشان داد. میزان قند خون گروه تیمار پیشگیرانه نسبت به گروه دیابتی کاهش معناداری (001/0 >p) را نشان داد. نتیجه گیری: نتایج بدست آمده بیانگر آن است که دریافت ترکیب عصاره گل سیر و سولفات روی به صورت پیشگیرانه باعث افزایش انسولین و کاهش قند خون دردیابت القایی می گردد.}, keywords_fa = {دیابت,روی,گل سیر,استرپتوزوتوسین,موش صحرایی}, url = {https://animal.ijbio.ir/article_1211.html}, eprint = {https://animal.ijbio.ir/article_1211_1f91314d0e690471221c492d88d632d0.pdf} }
